E! News reports that Orlando Bloom, 36, and his supermodel wife, Miranda Kerr, 30, are ending their marriage.
A rep for Bloom tells USA TODAY, "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation.".
The statement continued, "Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family.".
Bloom is starring on Broadway in a production of Romeo and Juliet with Condola Rashad, whose mom is actress Phylicia Rashad and dad is NFL legend and sports commentator Ahmad Rashad. She told Newsday that she and Bloom have great chemistry, finding a "connection from the minute" they met.
Earlier this month, Kerr spoke kindly of her hubby's Broadway debut, telling Broadway.com she was "blown away," adding, "For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week-- I have so much respect for him.".
On Friday, Bloom appeared on Live! with Kelly and Michael, but the topic of his marriage didn't come up. (A show rep tells us the interview was taped on Thursday.) But Bloom did talk about smooching with his Broadway co-star. "We sometimes get applause after our first kiss because it just goes on,' he starts. 'Sometimes I'm like, I'm not letting go.'".
Meanwhile, we won't be seeing Kerr walk the runway this year at the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that will air in December on CBS.
"They asked me to walk in the show, and I really wanted to, but I have to be in Asia that week," Kerr told Fashionista.com. "It's interesting to know that it will be the first year that I'm not there!".
Bloom and Kerr model began dating in 2007. They got married in July 2010 and Kerr gave birth to their adorable baby son, Flynn, on Jan. 6, 2011.
