Kate Upton and her boyfriend, Maksim Chmerkovskiy have broken up, according to insiders. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Kate Upton is back on the dating market and maybe doing another Cat Daddy dance now that she's split with her boyfriend, the "Dancing With the Stars" dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Kate Upton and her boyfriend Maksim Chmerkovskiy have been together since last June.
A source told Us Weekly "They are really good friends still and speak all the time, but their schedules just made it too difficult, and it fell apart. Chmerkovskiy has a lot of respect for her, but it just wasn't working anymore.".
Another insider told Confidential last week "It was the distance. He travels and she travels, and it didn't work out. The fact of the matter is that she is a 21-year-old girl and Maks is 33. She liked him and brought him to meet her parents at a football game. She invited him to a lot of family things. She got serious about him quickly, and he thinks she's a good person. It just didn't work.".
The Confidential source says "They broke up before Thanksgiving. He's focused on his career and she'll soon be going on a major press tour for 'The Other Woman.' ".
Another insider told People magazine, "They've been done for a while.".
Kate Upton, who is currently starring with Cameron Diaz and Nicki Minaj in the romantic revenge comedy, "The Other Woman," was photographed with Maksim in September in New York's West Village. Kate and Maksim didn't confirm they were a couple until October when Maksim told Us Weekly "She's an amazing person. We have an incredible time together, and, you know, I definitely didn't see that coming and I think neither did she. We enjoy each other's company very much and like I said, she's a great girl that I never thought anything romantic like this could have happened.".
An inside source who says they are close to the couple told E! News that breakup rumors were getting "a little over the top. It was never really that serious. Things actually fizzled out between them in September. Maks moved to L.A. for his acting career and Kate relocated to NYC. After that, they actually didn't see very much of each other. There's no hard feelings. I'm sure they'll remain friendly.".
The source speculates that Maksim might have "panicked" when Kate started looking for an apartment in the Flatiron District of New York City. It may have been too close to his apartment in Fort Lee, N.J.
The Confidential source says "Kate started to get the hint it was over and started to talk about breaking up with him. Then she thought Maks disinvited her to a wedding.".
